Dr. Ashley Wimer

Dr. Ashley Wimer joins the practice at Bellingham Naturopathic Clinic after working in practices in the Snoqualmie Valley and King County. She specializes in pediatrics, including infant frenotomies, and completed residency training in both pediatrics and family medicine.  She firmly believes in the importance of establishing the foundations of health at an early age, and providing care that meets the needs of each individual. Dr. Wimer, along with her husband and daughter moved to Bellingham to be closer to community, and strives to create an inclusive environment in both her professional and personal life.

She holds a doctoral degree in Naturopathic Medicine and a master’s degree in East Asian Medicine from Bastyr University. Dr. Wimer’s clinical work also includes rotations at Harborview Medical Center, YMCA Women’s Opportunity Place, Providence Mount St. Vincent, and NeighborCare clinics in Seattle.

In addition to newborn and pediatric care, Dr. Wimer is accepting new patients for acupuncture and women’s health. She enjoys using acupuncture to address a wide array of concerns, but is particularly trained in helping those on their fertility journey, as well as labor preparation, induction, and postpartum concerns.

Growing up in a small town in the Palouse region of Northern Idaho, Dr. Wimer is accustomed to a tight-knit community, and looks forward to serving Whatcom and its surrounding counties. Prior to medical school, Dr. Wimer studied Horticulture at the University of Idaho, before moving to Chicago where she worked for a farm in upstate Illinois.
